In the following section, I have listed many types of tarot spreads that you can use as practice spreads until you feel comfortable doing a few of them for regular clients or friends and family. I have given you many to choose from so see which types of spreads are available and which ones work better for you.
Remember, you can always make up a spread and use that for a general year ahead reading. You can also make up so many of your own yes/no spreads, but continue to keep track of them and the answers to the questions so that you can learn how accurate these new spreads are for you.
Don't be afraid to experiment with everything. Also, don't use only the interpretations of the cards from the tarot section, my book or other books. Why not use your own intuition or psychic abilities? What are the cards trying to tell you? Are particular numbers being repeated (check the numerology section and see what that number means), or are there themes that seem more important than other minor ones?
Remember to also check how many Major and Minor Arcana are being used for a particular spread or question, so you will know if these issues are on a more spiritual or mundane level. Spiritual issues tend to take longer to work themselves out and mundane issues usually are handled in a shorter period of time. Conversely, spiritual issues are larger issues and mundane issues are less important ones.
Each card has an answer to the issue at hand, so discover it and follow it.
Don't ask a question if you really don't want to know the answer. Things do not always happen the way you think they should. God/dess has a bigger and better plan for us and sometimes it takes a kick in our cosmic pants to push us onto the right path.
Good luck with using these spreads. Have fun and let me know how successful you are with them.
