Card of the Week

Three Of Pentacles

Money is on everyone's mind, that's why I chose to start off with the Pentacles, which represent finances, wealth, prosperity, abundance and possessions.

This is a very interesting card to interpret. We have three people, which are a mason, priest and architect. It denotes that all three people have to work together in order to build a church (or building). The mason is the only one looking to the future with vision and has wisdom in what he is doing; however, it is with great strength of character that he listens to the others and follows their directions. If he doesn't, he could fall off of the bench and seriously get hurt.

The black background denotes negativity, depression, confusing circumstances, being overwhelmed, stressed out and the unknown. The gray wall before it is adding fears, doubts, worries, anxieties, being on a "foggy" road and not knowing which direction you are heading. This is a Pentacle card, so it relates to finances, wealth, prosperity and abundance. Where are the Pentacles? They are in the top middle of the card hidden in the gray column (and they are also gray!) indicating that finances is what the concern or issue is really about.

The mason is wearing white as his first color, so we know he is "too giving, caring, loving, kind, generous, honest, easily taken advantage of and has a hard time saying NO." The black covering the white shirt shows serious issues and upsetting circumstances surrounding him, but he is wearing a yellow apron and has yellow hair so we know he is intelligent, logical, practical, and can think on many different mental levels. He seems grounded, however, he is on a bench near the end. He must balance himself carefully to do a good job for his clients as well as take pride in the work he has done for his own self-esteem.

The clients or priest and architect are looking in the wrong direction, which may denote that they would be better served if they asked for opinions and suggestions from the mason on how to improve the design or keep the costs down. However, they are busy rethinking their plans and giving orders to the mason who is trying desperately to please everyone. Meaning: If you work as a team player or collaborate with others, you will get ahead quicker and with less opposition. Be an important cog in the wheel. Being a loner or trying to stand out among the crowd may backfire at this time.
