Card of the Week

Two Of Pentacles

I chose the Two of Pentacles because everyone I know is complaining or worried about their financial future these days. This card exemplifies that concern.

This card shows a man trying to balance his money (prosperity, abundance, investments, bank accounts and wealth). He looks very uncomfortable trying to balance his fortune and it appears that he is not doing a very good job of it. Although he is facing to the right of the card (or the future), the pentacle in the future is lower than the one in the left of the card (the past). This indicates that there will be less money in the future if he doesn't change his thinking about money or take actions to change whatever he is currently doing.

His feet are not planted firmly on the ground, even though he is on the most firm foundation in the cards, cement. So even though he is on cement, his feet are not firm. Thus, his foundation is unstable or unbalanced.

The cement is gray giving him worries, doubts, fears, anxieties and negativity regarding his money. The green "eternity sign" indicates that this has been a life long challenge and will continue unless he takes positive steps to change his actions.

The sky is light blue turning almost into a gray, which would add to the negativity or bringing his fears and doubts into his consciousness. Water represents emotion. The calmer it is, the more emotionally stable and serene one is. The more wavy it is, the more of an emotional issue there is. The water in the background is like an emotional roller coaster, which may mean that it is causing problems or emotional issues and concerns, with perhaps family, significant other or friend relationship. Others know of his (or her if you are reading a woman) financial concerns and problems. It is as if they are robbing Peter to pay Paul.

If you notice, the first color on this man is RED. This is the aggressive, dominant, impulsive, active, energy filled and compulsive color. So this person?s first impulse is to buy everything he sees for instant gratification. Now, he is trying to change by showing us that he is wearing BEIGE over the red, a color he wishes to conquer or neutralize.

He seems to realize that his spending is out of control and not planning for the future and is actually trying to help himself to think more frugally, realize he does not need to buy everything he wants, and to be a bit more logical about his financial future, including all of his possessions.

For whatever reason, when this card comes up in a reading for a woman, I tell her to cut up her credit cards as she will get into financial debt a lot quicker than she thought.

Meaning: Save more of your money, buy what you need and not what you want and try to prepare for your financial future in a very determined and practical manner.
