Card of the Week

Two Swords

The two of Swords is a fascinating card since it has multiple meanings. The blue sky is clear which means harmony, peace and going in the right direction - however, if you are not looking in the direction of the sky, you don‘t get what it stands for. There is a crescent moon looming in the background. Whenever a moon appears in a card, it denotes illusion/delusion and that perhaps you see what you want to see and hear what you want to hear! Reality is always a challenge to understand or believe. Although the woman is seated on a cement bench indicating strength and stability. Her feet seem to be planted firmly on the cement ground, but the gray around her indicates fears, doubts, worries, anxieties, being overwhelmed, stressed and on a foggy path. She needs to deal with these issues before going any further. Her white dress indicates that she is a sucker (too giving, caring, loving, kind, generous, honest, can‘t say no to others and eventually will become a doormat if she doesn‘t stand up for herself). She holds two Swords, which she assumes will protect her, but with the self-imposed blindfold over her eyes, she is not sure what the problem is and cannot figure out how to properly protect herself. The rippled blue waters behind her suggest problems, secrets, sensitivity and emotional situations that affect her. The small islands or rocks are stumbling blocks to get her goals. She must take off her blindfold, hold the Swords appropriately to defend herself and get on with her life. She must take action or will remain “the sucker” and stay in that same negative energy field until she makes changes.
