Card of the Week

Five Of Cups

The Widow/Widower Card
This sad seems sad and so it is. It usually denotes some type of negativity that the person has attracted to himself or herself or cannot let go of. Look at how dark the gray sky is so the fears, doubts, worries, anxieties, being overwhelmed and stressed is a very real and important issue to you – one that should be addressed and changed to a more positive attitude. The figure is looking in the wrong direction, or into the past, at the fallen cups. Cups that are standing upright contain all the love, happiness, prosperity and joy that the water element brings, however, if the cups are tipped over, all the positive energy in them spills out or is no longer seen or felt by the Querent. The figure is also looking into the direction of a very emotional river. The more wavy or choppy water is in the cards means that the Querent’s emotions are more upset, more sensitive, more turbulent than normal. If the figure would look to the future, or to the right of the card, there would be much more love, happiness, prosperity and joy to help him/her through this difficult time. See the cups standing upright in the future filled with all the wonderful possibilities of love from family and friends; these people will get you through the rough spots. No matter where the castle is in the card, if you try to get to it, you will be happier, have more self-esteem, confidence, better relationships with family and friends or your significant other, have total joy, and things will go in a proper direction. How would you get to this castle? Would you go through the wavy water causing yourself to be more emotionally upset and confused or would you turn around, go to the future, and then go over the bridge. The bridge in the future is the proper answer.

This is also a card where someone may have recently died and the Querent is mourning over the death. It is a natural process which we must all go through, however, if this card comes out and the Querent confides in you that the person they are mourning has died a few years ago, it seems as if it would be time that they start looking at all the wonderful opportunities around them to help push them into the future. They must remove the black cape, which is attracting more negativity and despair. The cape is still so black because this person also worries about everything that causes more negativity to be attracted to them. Even the figure's hair is a combination of black and white, which shows that thinking during this time needs to be more balanced. The issues are depression versus being a sucker or both.
