History of Numerology
The beginnings of numerology date back over 10,000 years to Egypt and Babylonia. Pythagoras is credited with formally organizing the field of numerology approximately 1600 years ago in ancient Greece. At the turn of the twentieth century, an American woman, L. Dow Balliet and several of her contemporaries, published several books and started the modern phase of numerology. The field has taken several decades to be taken seriously. Now, increased research and publishing along with a marked resurgence of interest in numerology is taking place.
How Numerology Works
Everything in the universe vibrates its own frequency. By finding that vibrational rate of any object, you can establish the qualities and energies associated with it. By applying the principles of numerology and using only the name and birth date as the basic data, you can determine the major frequencies of different people. A numerological analysis of the calculated frequencies provides significant information and data on these peoples' personalities and character traits. In essence, depending upon the various numbers in your birth date and name, a chart (very similar to an astrology chart) is made and can only be changed if you change your name through marriage or legally through the court system. Many people change their name to equal numbers other than the ones they were born with hoping to attract the energy of a particular number, perhaps "8" which brings more prosperity and abundance into your life.
Calculating Numerology
In simplest mathematical terms, numbers used for the purpose of numerology are broken down into simple addition where any number can be added to equal a single digit. For instance: 1951 can be added as: 1+9+5+1=16; the 16 can be added as: 1+6=7.
Letters of individual names also correspond to numbers. See list in this section. For instance: A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc. until the letter I is reached (which is 9) and then you start over with J through R which are 1 - 9 and then the last eight numbers S through Z which are 1 to 8.
By applying simple mathematical formulas to the numbers representing a person's name and birth date, a numerologist can derive four major core elements and some twenty + modifiers. A symbolic evaluation of these elements provides a remarkably complete and accurate character analysis (see Numerology chart order form if interested in getting one done specifically for you).
