There are other tools I will bring to this New Year that are not in my backpack. Patience and increased intuitiveness, which I earned from years past, are my most valuable tools. Patience acquired while searching a specific plant for days, weeks or even months. Intuitiveness came from listening to the silent voice of the plants and the earth, and letting them guide my practice.
These tools have cunningly made their way in my everyday life as well. I notice it more and more, as I ride the crowded train to work in New York. Surrounded by asphalt, exhaust fumes and the bustle of anxiety. I pace myself and feel secure. Because I know outside of these concrete towers is a lush green forest waiting to nurture me -- waiting for me to nurture it. A cycle in which I am delighted to play a part.
So I start this New Year - with my new tools and an eagerness to share my discoveries with you. This earth has a lot to offer and we have a lot to offer it. I hope to see you out there
