I'm thankful for each and every person that annoys me (and at times there are many!) Through them I see aspects of myself that I try very hard to hide… they are my teachers.
I'm thankful for my bills, which make me grumble and complain. They show me the luxuries that really exist in my life…they remind me of all my riches.
I'm thankful for the chores I dread so much to do; cleaning the floors, washing the clothes, repairing the front door. They remind me how lucky I am that my body is still capable of these physical tasks…they keep me humble.
I am thankful for my animals; my cats, who show me how to relax; my dog, who with every bark, reminds me that what's important is very different for each of us; and my fish, who shows me how to float…they are my healers.
I'm thankful for my granddaughter - through this precious little being I am reminded what it was like to see, or feel, or do something for the very first time in this world…she is my joy.
And I'm thankful for all my family and friends - the sweet and the bitter; the kind and the grumpy; those who comfort and those who need comforting. Through our likenesses and our differences, they remind me of my community with the human race and that whatever happens to one of us, affects us all - because that's just the way it is.
How blessed I am to share this Earth with all these people and things - and for all this, I am eternally grateful.
